I almost never set out to photograph a landscape, nor do I think of my camera as a means of recording a mountain or an animal unless I absolutely need a ‘record shot’.

My first thought is always of light.

Glorious morning at Magpie Mine at Peak District.

First light is touching the remains of the mine. It was a fantastic morning and I am very pleased with how Kodak Ektar 100 rendered the first light. It’s become my main colour negative film stock for a while now.

What is your favourite colour negative film for landscapes?

Landscape photography is the supreme test of the photographer – and often the supreme disappointment.
