Peter’s Stone, Peak District 2018 UK
Hassleblad 503CW f22 1/4s +0.9+81A 50mm Fuji Provia 100
Hasselblad 503CW f22 1/4s +0.9+81A 50mm Fuji Provia 100

Peter’s Stone is a circular limestone dome in the Wardlow Mires, northern end of Cressbrook Dale. This is where the last gibbet in the county stood and local legend has it this was the last gibbeting. A gibbet was a gallows used to display the bodies of criminals after their execution and this is where they were left until long after execution with their bones rattling against the iron cage serving as a deterrent to other would-be criminals.

I have used Fuji Provia slide film for this shot. I like slide film colours. Although Provia is not my top favourite stock I like to shoot it when I can.

Do you have a favourite film stock?

What it is? Let us know below!

Out with Lady Grey

I met Lomo Lady Gray 400 by chance, in Boots drug store. It was a 3 film pack on SALE!  3 rolls of  36 exposures films for £2 ( normal price per pack is £16.99).  I bought all the packs they had in the shop. Bargain. I did not know much about this film, but I took my chances.

Every image is in some way a “portrait,” not in the way that it would reproduce the traits of a person, but in that it pulls and draws (this is the semantic and etymological sense of the word), in that it extracts something, an intimacy, a force.

Trip to the coast

This trip to the coast technically happened in December 2018, but I have just processed the films so I will talk about it now. 🙂

Steetley Pier in Hartlepool is a great location for seascape photography. I have never heard of it before Chris came with it as a location for our coast photo trip.
