At our best and most fortunate we make pictures because of what stands before our camera, to honour what is greater and more interesting than we are. We never accomplish this perfectly, though in return we are given something perfect–a sense of inclusion. Our subject thus redefines us and is part of the biography by which we want to be known.

MEDIUM FORMAT PICTURE OF THE WEEK – Rainy day

Hasselblad 503CW, f4 1/60s +0.6ND 50mm

Rainy day

I walked up to Curbar Edge in hope to catch some interesting light that morning. The forecast was optimistic so I walked. Unfortunately light did not happen. Actually, nothing happened that morning.

There was no view, no light and it started to rain.  I did only one exposure this morning, this one on Kodak Trix 400.

I like it because of the mood of the shot, it summarizes the feeling that morning…

Do you shoot Kodak TRIX?

What’s your favourite B&W film?

Let me know below.

Photography is a strong tool, a propaganda device, and a weapon for the defence of the environment…and therefore for the fostering of a healthy human race and even very likely for its survival.
