When I photograph, what I’m really doing is seeking answers to things.

Edward S. Curtis – Self-portrait Published in 1910, possibly earlier.

To the oft-asked question, “What camera or lens do you use?” I can only reply “I couldn’t tell to save my soul—it is enough for me to know that I have something that will make pictures and that it is in working order.”

MFPOTW – Bathing in the morning light (Peak District edition).

Early winter morning at Ramshaw Rocks in beautiful Peak District UK.

The exact moment when whole Ramshaw rocks were bathing in winter sunrise light. I love those moments. The composition is not the greatest but I like the sense of light on this picture. As usual Kodak Ektar 100 did not disappoint.

Have you been at Ramshaw Rocks or The Roaches? What did you like the best?

Let me know in your comment below.

Photography is a small voice, at best, but sometimes one photograph, or a group of them, can lure our sense of awareness.

I have never taken a picture for any other reason than that at that moment it made me happy to do so.

Quote Of The Week – Galen Rowell #3

I began to realise that the camera sees the world differently than the human eye and that sometimes those differences can make a photograph more powerful than what you actually observed.

There’s a time when people say your work is revolutionary, but you have to keep being revolutionary. I can’t keep shooting pop stars all my life. You have to keep changing, keep pushing yourself, looking for the new, the unusual.
